In Full . . .

30 minutes isn’t enough

As a concerned village businessman, I just wondered if there was anything that could be done about the parking in The Square – i.e. putting it back to two hours as it was before.

We have regular traffic wardens coming now, and as shop owners we like to see them, but I do think the half-hour time limit is not enough.

There are some very nice shops in and around The Square, plus The Lounge and Cafe Morso where people like to sit, eat, drink and relax.

There are certain shops and small businesses in which you can spend more than half an hour in waiting to be served, and to get round the shops to do your shopping can take more than half an hour.

The limit was changed so that the old traffic warden could come from Bromsgrove and get round in half an hour before going back, so he was not waiting around for two hours. I am sure that restoring the two-hour limit would help the village, because we don’t want any more closed shops.
