Airman plea

Posted on April 21 2013 at 11:56:17

I am a history teacher from the Netherlands. For more than five years I have been researching into airmen from 142 Squadron, Royal Air Force, who died in The Netherlands.

As part of my research I am looking for information on Sgt Dennis Alford. He was the son of Sidney and Lilian Ethel Alford and, quoting the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website, they were from Longlevens, Gloucester.

But, he isn’t listed on the Gloucester War Memorial, but on the Barnt Green War Memorial. That’s why I am hoping you can help me with my research.

Do any of your readers know if Dennis Alford lived in Barnt Green? And if so, if there are still descendants of him living in Barnt Green?

Or do you know if there are people or societies in Barnt Green who could provide me with more information about this man?
