Birdlife haven

Amid all the controversy surrounding Marlbrook Tip, no mention has been made of its value as a haven for birdlife.
I have identified on the site, in addition to the commoner species, kestrel, buzzard, partridge, heron, grey wagtail, kingfisher, little grebe and green sandpiper.
Mallard and moorhen successfully raised young there this year while skylark and lapwing, both on the UK Red List of birds of concern, were present during the breeding season.
Any future work on the site will inevitably have an impact upon these birds and other wildlife.
