Terrific time

The Bromsgrove Lions Club and Anglo Welsh Waterway Holidays very kindly arranged a canal boat trip and a wonderful day out for The Stroke Association’s “Wednesday Friends” group from the Life After Stroke Centre in Bromsgrove, which is made up of volunteers and stroke survivors who visit LASC regularly.

I am a stroke survivor and was able to make the trip from Tardebigge to Alvechurch and back – and I have to say that, along with my fellow survivors and carers, I experienced a terrific time cruising one of the prettiest parts of the Worcester-Birmingham Canal.

For me, having once owned a narrowboat, the trip brought back fond memories I thought I had forgotten!

Furthermore, we were all overwhelmed by the tremendous hospitality and help shown through the day by the Lions, in giving us this glorious day.

On behalf of the Wednesday Friends, I would like to say a big thank you to each and every one of the volunteers who made the trip possible.

Not forgetting Anglo Welsh, who supplied one of their beautiful hire boats for the day along with the expert help of their staff. Thank you very much!
