Views from the Past

Standing for the people

Your hard-hitting editorial in the March Village magazine has brought into focus the many concerns voiced to me in Barnt Green and to my fellow Independent Bromsgrove district councillor for Alvechurch, Mrs Jean Luck.

Turn attention to the pavement

My attention was drawn to the article on the Lickey End Road campaign and traffic calming in Alcester Road.

An advance into Green Belt?

We have been residents of Hopwood for many years, and for many years we have been known as the “is that where that awful smell is by the canal?” area.

I noted with alarm the item under the heading “Lawns celebrates plans victory” in the April edition of The Village.

Posted on April 30 2005 at 3:37:40

Changing commuter route ‘impossible’
Posted on April 30 2005 at 3:35:40

We were delighted to read of the initiative that you are taking in bringing the traffic situation in Alvechurch to the forefront of everyone’s consciousness.

Something needs to be done

I was very interested to read in the magazine about Stop the Traffic. I for one would like to see something done.

Traffic-calming not all positive

The experience of road bumps in Barnt Green has not been all positive and should be taken into account when planning for Alvechurch.

We don’t need nannying

I have recently moved to Alvechurch and was saddened to hear that the village has a problem with speeding.
