I have just finished reading an article in this month’s edition of The Village, about the Parish Council  halving their grant to St Laurence Church towards the upkeep of the churchyard from £1,000 to £500.

Accidents are not caused by double yellow lines, they are caused by the selfish parking of people and drivers who rush up and down Fiery Hill.

I am writing with regard to motorists driving too fast in Crown Meadow, Alvechurch, particularly in the area between Glebe Road and Callow Hill Road.

Alvechurch Parish Council’s chairman would have us believe that funding has been halved for the maintenance of the churchyard (The Village, June 2007) because this comes from the public purse.

Traffic by the shops in Hewell Road, Barnt Green, is difficult for drivers and dangerous for shoppers crossing the road.

Raising the roof!

This February we launched an appeal to raise £40,000 which, in addition to money already raised, we needed to replace the roof of St Michael’s Church in Cofton Hackett, and to repair and redecorate the interior.
