My family and I moved to the beautiful surrounds of Alvechurch last year. The people and the animals are without exception friendly and welcoming. It amazes me, however, that so few people pick up after their dogs.

How can we rely on rail?

Once again I arrived at the station in Alvechurch to catch the 9.03am train to Birmingham and ended up waiting in the cold as the service was cancelled.

I’m still not sure whether the writer of the letter entitled “Keep Roads for Cars not Horses” is actually serious, or whether this is just a wind-up.

We have all received letters in Hopwood regarding the decision that affordable housing is, against all logic, going to be sited on Green Belt land in Hopwood.

This morning (Saturday November 17) we had an appointment at the BBC in Birmingham to go live on air at 10.20am. We set out in good time to catch the 9.09 train from Barnt Green.
