To all the residents of rural or semi-rural Britain who feel safe in the knowledge that our Prime Minister has assured us that any use of green belt for housing will only be considered after brown belt and greenfield sites (yes, there is a difference) have been found unsuitable or unsustainable, this is a wake up call!

My mum used to live in Forhill in the 1920s/30s. She has recently been talking about the black pits/ponds in the village.

Is the letter from Paul Taft of Rowney Green (Village Views Dec/Jan 08) to be taken as a serious comment, and are we supposed to read between the lines, that the residents of Hopwood were wrong to oppose this “glorious“ event of motorcross?

The decision giving the go-ahead to the controversial Ash Lane development in Hopwood was a prominent feature of your last issue and one correspondent clearly expressed dismay with local representatives.
