In reply to a letter I wrote in May, Coun Roger Hollingworth said that he and Julie Kirkbride had made sure it (the affordable housing development in Ash Lane and Smedley Crooke Place, Hopwood) was presented to the full Planning Committee and the final decision by them must be based on planning policies.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why, whether I walk or drive from Roberts Corner to Alvechurch, the signpost located there that says “Alvechurch 11/2 miles” seems to mislead?

So the new school has landed in Alvechurch, and what a sight it is: a fabulous building with all the mod- cons anyone could ever wish for – so why so many glum faces?
