Traveller incursions in Alvechurch and around Bromsgrove have been a big problem recently. No one should be above the law, and I completely support residents who want a long-term solution to this once and for all.

The subject of “planning“ is guaranteed to raise hackles in any gathering involving more than two people, and Alvechurch, as part of the Bromsgrove constituency, has had more than its fair share of contentious applications in recent years.

Regarding proposals for the land off Birmingham Road, Alvechurch (The Village View, November 2014), we explored whether Alvechurch Cricket Club and Alvechurch Lions Football Club were able to acquire the land long before the McCarthy and Stone development was mooted.
