Remember this at the ballot box

At the Full Meeting of Bromsgrove District Council in February, the ruling Conservative Group agreed to pass on only a pathetic £87,000 in New Homes Bonus payments to local communities in the next year, despite the council receiving some £1.3 million in NHB payments from central Government (which includes back-dated payments from homes built in previous years).

What will stop people speeding?

Unfortunately, I fell victim to the mobile speed camera on the Old Birmingham Road in Bromsgrove just before Christmas.

The line-up for polling day on May 7 is starting to look quite interesting, both in the battle for the Bromsgrove seat in Parliament and among those competing to represent wards in the Bromsgrove District Council elections.

It is interesting that Bromsgrove council is so concerned to preserve the Green Belt – which I am quite happy about – but is allowing waste meat to be brought in large crates in lorries on to the Balloon Site Field in Hopwood, transferred from the crates into huge open-topped lorries, in the open, before it is transported off the site, sometimes uncovered.

New roundabout danger

I read your recent article about the Newland Homes development. With 25 new homes in such a “landmark victory”, how many additional cars will be added to one of the most congested roundabouts in Bromsgrove?

How can a lack of facilities be thought a victory?

My wife and I are relatively new residents of The Oakalls – my wife was appointed as curate at St Godwald’s Church in 2013, and we moved to Verona Road in June of that year.
