Fantasy of winter music

Music

Join the Orchestra of St John for A Winter Fantasy on Sat Nov 25 – travel into a Russian forest to build a bonfire, then take a magical flight with The Snowman.

In the perfect prelude to Christmas, the audience will be treated to the music from The Snowman and the thrilling adventure which is Prokofiev’s Winter Bonfire.

The ever-enthusiastic Richard Jenkinson will conduct the orchestra, joined by Alvechurch Middle School Choir as well as soloist Daniel Munn from Worcester Cathedral singing Walking in the Air. The two stories narrated by Brian Williams, will come to life in the fabulous setting of St John’s Church in Bromsgrove.

One winter’s day, a boy builds a snowman. That night the snowman comes to life for a magical adventure! Prokofiev’s Winter Bonfire tells the charming story of children from Moscow on an outing – the train ride, snow falling, waltzing on the ice, and their evening campfire.

Tickets £5 (accompanied children free) in advance from FotoFactory at 123 High Street, Bromsgrove or from http://www.a-winter-fantasy.eventbrite.co.uk

Prior to the performance, concert-goers can have their photo taken with The Snowman and a motorbike, warm themselves by a fire pit and enjoy hot chocolate and a snowman treat!

Doors open from 6pm with music from 7pm. More info at http://www.facebook.com/FriendsStJohnsBromsgrove
