Ravens put on a show

Posted on June 30 2017 at 12:43:46

NEW Ravens RLFC recently held their first junior camp weekend at Hopwood, which was very well attended.

The Saturday began with several activities unfortunately being called off because of appalling weather, but the open-age team played their league match against Birmingham Bulldogs in the afternoon with several juniors acting as mascots and touch judges. The evening was rounded off with a disco.

The Sunday was undoubtedly a much better day with several junior squads from other Midland areas arriving to the ground to play in friendly rugby league matches.

Food and drink was on sale all day, plus inflatable rides and a craft stall.

In between rugby league games, each squad was given defibrillator training (right) provided by Ravens’ chosen charity, “Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts”.

The next junior camp weekend is scheduled to take place during the weekend of July 1–2, when hopefully the club’s partners from St Helens RLFC will be present.

All welcome to come along, regardless of experience, gender or ability, and join in the family fun at this friendly community rugby league club.

The ground is Hopwood Park (KNRFC), just off Junction 2 of the M42 and ideally placed for many events. The Midlands RL Finals take place there in August.
