Founded by two experienced stonemasons, Shaw Stone Surfaces Ltd has built its success on supplying quality products and excellent customer service to independent kitchen specialists, leading retail chains, and the UK’s largest home builders and architects.

Brothers Gavin and Gareth Shaw set up the Halesowen-based firm two years ago, and specialise in the design, production and installation of granite work surfaces for kitchens and bathrooms.

After working for similar companies for many years, the brothers – who are second-generation stonemasons, following in their father’s footsteps – decided to set up their own business, blending the vision of design with their stonemasonry skills and the latest advancements in technology.

“At first it was just the two of us working with a few hand tools, but today we have a dedicated team of 14 staff. We’ve also recently invested more than £100,000 in the very latest CNC (computer numerically controlled) machinery,” says Gavin.

Shaw Stone Surfaces stocks the 15 most popular granites at its premises, while customers can also visit one of the firm’s business partners – located just 10 minutes away – to view hundreds of different granite and quartz slabs at one of the UK’s biggest natural stone warehouses.

“We believe stone is the perfect material for today’s kitchens and bathrooms – there are so many colours and textures, and it’s very high performing as well as attractive,” adds Gareth. “We offer a full service from template and manufacture through to final fitting, and can also project manage worktop replacement if you simply want to update your existing kitchen.”

Shaw Stone Surfaces is also the Midlands’ only Gold rated fabricator of Silestone quartz work surfaces, and an accredited applicator of the world’s leading stone sealant, Dry Treat – all granite worktops and other stone surfaces come with a 15-year stain proof warranty, while Silestone products have a 10 year warranty.

No wonder the firm’s client list includes Starbucks, Harrods, Wembley Stadium and Drayton Manor Park.
