Catwalk show

Bromsgrove celebrated International Women’s Day in style with a special Fashion Extravaganza at the Spadesbourne Suite.

Hosted by Bromsgrove District Council, the event was held to demonstrate the success of local businesswomen and raise funds for the Chairman’s charities.

A catwalk show by Joolz of Barnt Green was a major highlight of the evening, showcasing some of the latest spring and summer collections available at the boutique – the models displayed outfits from popular brands such as Bandolera, Imprevu and Antonelle, plus exciting new labels Stills and Not Your Daughter’s Jeans.

The stylish and often unusual clothes were complemented by accessories from Bulaggi, Radley and Lupo.

The show also featured beautiful gowns from Anne Marie Bridal, occasion wear and accessories from Simply Weddings & Parties and sexy plus-size lingerie from Second Skin, while students from Inkberrow Design College showed off their creative collections.

Meanwhile, 20 exhibitors set up stalls offering everything from jewellery to health advice – many of the women had received help from the Council’s Business Start-Up Programme – and refreshments were provided by Spice Trade.

Jan Woolley, Operations Officer, who arranged the event, said: “It was a tremendous success, and a wonderful opportunity for networking and making new friends. It showed the diversity of talent on offer throughout the District.”

The event raised more than £350 for the Primrose Hospice and Dogs for the Disabled.
