Bikers with Lorenzo

Bromsgrove chef Lorenzo Richards cooked up a culinary treat when TV’s Hairy Bikers visited his restaurant on their mission to discover the world’s best chicken and egg recipes.

Dave Myers and Simon “Si” King came to The Wildmoor Oak to film part of the final episode of their new series. Chicken & Egg sees the duo biking across Europe, the Middle East and America before returning to the UK, where they learn to cook Caribbean Chicken with Lorenzo.

The episode shows the presenters arriving at what they perceive to be a quintessentially English pub.

They are greeted by a group of Morris Dancers before entering the beer garden to discover a Caribbean party in full swing, with Lorenzo cooking West Indian jerk chicken on the barbecue!

The Bikers chat to Lorenzo about what it was like to grow up in Bir-mingham with Jamaican parents. They also discuss the rising popularity of Caribbean food in the UK.

Dave Myers said: “I wish I lived closer to Bromsgrove because The Wildmoor Oak could rapidly become my favourite local.

“Lorenzo is a wonderful chef, a jerk master. It was well worth coming to taste his food – it’s blooming marvellous!”

Episode six of Chicken & Egg will be on BBC2 at 8pm on October 11, and will be shown on a big screen at The Wildmoor Oak for those who want to watch in the very place it was filmed.
