A peek over the garden wall

Kevin Baker’s garden in Tranter Avenue

June and July were the chance for villagers in Alvechurch to open their gardens for all to see – and raise money for the National Gardens Scheme’s charities.

This year 12 gardens joined the fun, with hundreds of people coming from far and wide (one visitor was from New Zealand!) to see what keen local gardeners had been up to over the past two years.

Even the weather was kind, with heavy rain holding off just long enough for the June opening, while July’s date was fine all day.

Pictured above is Kevin Baker’s garden in Tranter Avenue, on show for the first time this year.
