Finstall Open Gardens 2011
Posted on March 15 2011 at 9:14:10 0 comments

After a three-year break, the village of Finstall will be holding an Open Gardens day on Saturday June 18, to raise funds for the Village Hall, writes Fran Rogers.
This has always been a very popular event as there is an interesting variety of gardens within the village and the lanes. There will be a treasure hunt for children involving the route of the gardens, so it will be a fun opportunity for the family to walk around the village.
The Cross Inn will provide lunchtime refreshments and Finstall Cross WI will serve tea and cake throughout the day at the Village Hall. Cream teas will be available at various points in the lanes, and there will also be car parking for those who prefer to travel by car.
Tickets and maps will be available from 11am on the day from the Village Hall, where there will be a variety of stalls and a display of flower paintings by local art groups.
Finstall village and lanes are always lovely at any time of year, but they are at their best in June when you are bound to see a colourful display in every garden.
Tickets will cost a modest £3 to visit every garden (family tickets £5), so you are assured of good value for money if you support this event.
