Littleheath Garden Centre is looking better than ever as staff look forward to the future and prepare for a popular Christmas event in aid of a local charity.

The Lickey End centre will be hosting its annual Christmas Shopping Extravaganza on Wednesday November 20, and Santa’s Grotto will be declared open at the same time.

The centre will be open from 9am to 8pm for a full day of festive fun for all the family, and once again Littleheath is supporting Bromsgrove’s Primrose Hospice with proceeds from the event.

Shoppers will be entitled to a massive 25 per cent off almost everything in store on the day – but that’s only the start. As well as picking up plenty of bargains, visitors can also enjoy Christmas carols performed by a local school choir, and buy a ticket for the raffle with lots of great prizes.

At 4pm the excitement really begins, as the man of the moment – Santa himself – makes his entrance with the help of the Lions Club of Bromsgrove. He will be accompanied by two real reindeer, and there’s even a special appearance by Peppa Pig who will help to open the magical Christmas Grotto!

There’s free entry to the Grotto, and children can then have a chat with Santa and choose their own present from his workshop (£6.99 per child).

Alvechurch’s very own Magic Bob will keep youngsters entertained with magic tricks and balloon modelling – and visitors can also take the opportunity to book him for children’s parties (more information at http://www.magic-bob.com, or on 07800 905976).

Kids can also have their faces painted courtesy of Changing Faces, and there will be more festive music from the amazing Primrose Choir and Blackwell Brass Band. Complimentary drinks and mince pies will be available.

The wonderful display of festive decorations and stylish gifts will give inspiration to all customers wishing to add a touch of glamour to their homes this Christmas.

There’s a fantastic selection of Christmas trees from traditional to colour-themed and even tiny ones for the baby.

If you’re after a real tree, Littleheath specialises in good quality, no-needle-drop Nordmann and Nobilis varieties, starting at only £29.99 – together with mistletoe, wreaths and beautiful planted gift arrangements.

And you can decorate your indoor or outdoor tree with Littleheath’s excellent range of low-energy LED lights, which are now more popular than ever.

There is an extensive collection of personal gifts including beautiful jewellery and shawls and an expanded range of footwear as well as plenty of gift-packed toiletries and spa treatments.

For foodies there will be plenty of tempting preserves, condiments and boxes of chocolates to celebrate the festive season.

Practical gifts for gardeners and fans of the great outdoors are all around the garden centre, and as always there’s a huge selection of boxed Christmas cards at amazing value – including Hallmark bumper packs of 30 cards for only £2.99!

During the Christmas Shopping Extravaganza, there’s 10 per cent off all white “shabby chic” bedroom furniture and Vancouver Oak furniture, meaning you could save nearly £100 on a table and six chairs.

And don’t forget to pay a visit to Littleheath’s restaurant, which will have been decorated for the season and will be serving its usual array of delicious homecooked treats.

Staff are now taking bookings for Christmas lunches, which start on Thursday November 21.

Littleheath really has everything to make your Christmas special – the team look forward to seeing you!
