Cover Nov 2004

Our November 2004 cover showed the Alvechurch Morris men mid-dance during Alvechurch Alight.

Inside were many more pictures from the weekend, including the lantern procession (below), activities at the cricket club, and the Battle of the Bands.

*Plus ça change . . . There was concern in Alvechurch about large lorries delivering to the Co-op several times a day (as shown in this photo sent in by a reader), blocking parking spaces as well as causing a danger to other road-users and pedestrians. 

However, it wasn’t all bad – one reader had written in to sing the praises of Alvechurch’s public loo!

* Alvechurch Lions, which had only begun a year earlier as an under-9s team, had grown to such an extent that the club now boasted eight teams and almost 100 players aged from under-7s to under-14s, all from the Village area.
