Orchestra of St John

The Orchestra of St John’s first concert in December was a terrific success with good support from the local community.

The follow-up concert will bring the choir of St John’s Church into the limelight, together with another local chamber choir, the Grafton Consort. These choirs will perform the Mozart Requiem in a special Easter performance.

Conductor Richard Jenkinson will direct the choir and orchestra in this wonderful work in the second half of the concert. The first half will involve the string players of the orchestra in Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro and also Les Illuminations by Benjamin Britten, with soprano soloist Claire Prewer from Worcester.

The orchestra’s intention is to find players and soloists from the Worcestershire area, to show the wealth of talent in our region.

Tickets are £10 each, with accompanied children free. Interval refreshments and a programme are included in the price, making it a very affordable night out.

Please come along to support your own local orchestra and choirs for this very special concert on Saturday April 7 at 7.30pm at St John’s Church, Kidderminster Road, Bromsgrove.

Tickets are available from the Church Office on 01527 878801, or on the door.
