The Shrubbery

A dozen gardens will be open for the National Gardens Scheme in Alvechurch on Saturday and Sunday June 25 and 26.

Gardens range from a riverside rectory with waterfall to a corner plot “gardened” for wildlife and from a professionally landscaped terraced garden to a garden with wooden bridge, decking and pebbled areas.

There are rose beds, shrubberies, herbaceous beds, a meadow, fruit and vegetable gardens and plenty of sculptures.

Combined admission is only £6 (children go free) and you pick up a map at the first garden you visit. Look out for the yellow NGS signs around the village.
