Afternoon tea at Hillscourt

The NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union, is inviting people to a local Macmillan fundraising event with a difference.

Instead of the usual “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”, the union is hosting Afternoon Tea on Friday September 26 at Hillscourt Centre on Rose Hill, Lickey.

Between 11.30am and 4.30pm, visitors can enjoy sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea and coffee for a donation of £5 - or make it really special and add a glass of Pimm’s for £6.50. All proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

You can drop in any time on the day, or make sure you avoid disappointment by reserving a table in advance on 0121 457 6100.

Chris Keates, General Secretary of the NASUWT, said:

“Macmillan Cancer Support is particularly close to the hearts of NASUWT employees as we have supported many colleagues through diagnosis and treatment of a variety of cancers, and have also tragically lost much-loved colleagues to this dreadful disease – most recently a senior member of staff, Karen Sims, who died of cancer aged 40 on September 2.

“I hope local people will take this opportunity to take time out from their busy lives and enjoy the stunning grounds and surrounding woodlands of Hillscourt.”
