Bus shelter will not return

The missing Blackwell bus shelter will not be replaced outside the village store after parish councillors decided to accept cash from developers who had removed it temporarily.

Coun Jill Harvey said: “There has been quite a saga over the summer. The solution is we are quite happy to accept a cash sum of about £4,000 instead of a bus shelter. But first the developers will have to get the planning conditions changed.”

Councillors may use the cash to install a new bus shelter near the Fairways where there is already a bench.
