Cofton speed limit delay
Posted on January 19 2012 at 11:09:22 0 comments
Plans to introduce a 30mph speed limit along Barnt Green Road in Cofton Hackett by the beginning of the New Year have been delayed.
It is believed county highways officers are considering a detailed objection to the plan received from a resident living close to the proposed new zone between Rose Hill island and just past the top of Reservoir Road.
In a letter of objection to the head of legal services at Worcestershire County Council, the resident says the “dangers” given as the reason for reducing the speed limit are “non-existent”.
He adds: “If there is a danger to persons, existing or potential, this is not due to the road or motor vehicles using it but the locations of ungated access/egress points to/from the Lickey Woods.”
