Concern over building plans

Posted on January 30 2017 at 10:34:08

Plans to demolish Bear Hill House and build three new houses on the site above the village green in Alvechurch should be refused because the scheme would be “at odds” with the neighbouring Conservation Area, according to Bromsgrove’s Conservation Officer.

The plans are also causing concern for some villagers.

Neighbours who share the narrow Church Walk access to the site are seeking assurances that they will be indemnified against any problems caused during demolition and building work, while another villager has pointed out that Church Walk is really only suitable for pedestrians visiting the church or graveyard.

“It is not wide enough for the HGVs or skip wagons which would have to be used,” he told planners.

A decision date for the plans has yet to be decided.
