Garden centre raids ‘linked’

Posted on September 28 2011 at 8:28:41 0 comments

Two village garden centres have been broken into in raids police think could be linked.

Thieves stole a substantial amount of cash from Burcot Garden Centre in Alcester Road, Burcot. They broke in between 6.15pm on Sunday, 25 September, and 8.30am on Monday, 26 September.
Little Heath Garden Centre in Lickey End was broken into between 9.50pm on Sunday, 25 September, and 8.30am on Monday, 26 September.

Offenders stole a substantial amount of cash and a number of furniture items including tables, chairs and lamps. The exact value is not yet known.

PC Nicky Gingell said: “We are currently looking into whether these two incidents are linked and are eager to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area of either of these garden centres over the weekend.

“As the offenders took a number of large pieces of stock from the Little Heath Garden Centre they are likely to have needed a van to transport them.

“We would therefore like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any vehicles parked in suspicious circumstances near the garden centres between Sunday evening and Monday morning.”

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Gingell on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 33-N-260911, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
