A Redditch artist has had a piece of her work auctioned at a prestigious charity event in London.
Michelle Baker, a contemporary artist who originally trained in Textile Design at the University of Central England (now Birmingham City University) was approached by a charity called Africa Revival to create a painting for their Secret Auction Ball at The Savoy in London.
Africa Revival does a great deal of work in Africa providing aid to those who need it most. Michelle was very keen to support the charity, and her work (shown above) was placed in the auction alongside that of artists such as Picasso, Salvador Dali and Chagall. Her painting was successfully auctioned, helping to raise much needed funds for Africa Revival.
Over the years MIchelle has had a great deal of experience working with different mediums and styles of painting. She has a unique way of painting which is created by layering different techniques such as printing, textural work and soft washes.
She has an extensive body of work and has worked with several different companies to create artwork for their premises.
