A new book is aiming to help visitors make the most of the Lickey Hills.

Following the highly successful Great Walks book released in 2012, and the revised reprint two years ago, the latest version offers something completely different.

Now with 68 pages, Exploring the Lickeys is packed with walks, history, and information on the park and the environment – even more indispensable to the visitor.

There are also sections dedicated to involving the young by encouraging observation and activities.

The walks, both in and around the park and now numbering 13, have been redrawn and designed for all ages and abilities.

The book is lavishly illustrated with photographs and detailed maps, with local graphic artist Simon Woolford contributing all the hand-drawn images.

The core production team, all members of The Lickey Hills Society, were assisted in their task by a generous legacy made by the late John Murdock, who loved the hills.

As usual, all those involved gave their time freely, with all the proceeds from the sale of the book going to support the Country Park.

Exploring the Lickeys costs £5 and is available from the Lickey Hills Country Park Visitor Centre, Warren Lane, Lickey; from Barnt Green’s parish office at 80 Hewell Road, or via
