Thumbs-up for Jubilee plans

Posted on October 18 2011 at 9:08:19 0 comments

Alvechurch Parish Council has decided to go ahead with plans to make The Meadows available for community celebrations over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee holiday next year.

The council, which was criticised for banning a Royal Wedding celebration there earlier this year, is now keen to act as “a conduit” for groups and organisations wishing to use The Meadows for parties or other community events.

The Jubilee bank holiday is on Tuesday June 5 and the spring bank holiday is June 4, making a four-day holiday weekend.

The events will be co-ordinated by parish councillor Natalie Wise, who can be contacted by calling the parish office on 0121 447 8016.
