Everyone’s trying their hand at ‘stand-up’ and now you have a chance to make ‘em laugh as Bromsgrove’s Artrix theatre launches its new season of comedy workshops for wannabe comedians.
Weekly tutorial sessions cover writing, performance and building confidence in front of an audience, as well as examining practical aspects like microphone technique, culminating in a live show at the theatre’s studio.
There’ll be a lively mixture of group exercises and one-to-one coaching, all under the guidance of comedian and Worcestershire Poet Laureate Theo.
Previous participants have gone on to perform at events around the region and beyond, so if you fancy having a go, or would like to book a place as a special gift for someone, contact Artrix at http://www.artrix.co.uk or call the box office on 01527 577 330.
Stand-up comedy workshops are part of Artrix’s new season – successful previous workshops have resulted in sell-out audiences at the theatre’s studio.
The new season is packed with comedy, including the finalists of ITV’s Show me the Funny and a new concept in comedy – bringing stand-up and poetry together in a show called Well Versed in Comedy on October 28.
