District’s mess

I’ll tell Coun Kit Taylor what I want the district council to do about Marlbrook Tip (The Village July/August 2011): the council should apologise for their appalling lack of monitoring and the treatment of the residents who complained.
The council should also enforce the terms of the original planning permission and tell the owner to remove the excess.
Surely, it is up to the paid officers and elected councillors to formulate plans, not expect the residents to dig them out of a hole of their own making. (Not that there is much of a hole left after an extra million cubic metres of material was dumped over and above the agreed permission.)
