Pinch-point calming winds up motorists

Dare I speak the truth about the traffic pinch-points in Alvechurch?

Well, here are just a few things: Boy racers (and others) love to race through just before someone who should have priority.

Cars have to slow down, speed up, sometimes stop – doesn’t that make noise, use more fuel, cost us more and cause more pollution?

If no one is coming the other way it only slows a car down as much as a narrowing, such as at pelican crossings.

If one happens to be short of time, it raises stress levels and would therefore predispose drivers to making mistakes elsewhere on their journey.

No one wants to see cars speeding in our villages, but we certainly do want to calm drivers rather than wind them up!

Am I wrong? Am I missing something?
