I was very disappointed and sad to read in the October Village that Barnt Green Parish Council had turned down the request from St Michael’s Church for an annual sum of £250 for maintenance of its churchyard.

More litter louts

For the second day running I have picked up two lots of litter in The Meadows, left by irresponsible. . . I do not know what to call them without swearing.

Pinch-point would save cash

The other morning at about 12.30am a car had a near miss on the bends south of Alvechurch, taking out the two bollards and putting debris all over the road.

Car park concern

I am disappointed to read in successive editions of The Village that the car park at Alvechurch train station has still not been drained, resurfaced with Tarmac and marked with spaces, including for disabled drivers.

Laziness to blame for car culture

We wholeheartedly support your views (The Village View, September 2016), and it’s unfortunately all too easy to understand why the car has become so dominant everywhere.
