Dry spell heralds springtime

March has been a very dry month to date (27th) with only 30mm rain – slightly less than half the amount expected for all of March locally.
Sunshine also shows well above average levels to date with 149 hours, which is 145% of the full March average.
Temperatures have shown an improvement on recent months with an average mean temperature of 6.8C, 0.8C above average.
Outlook for April: A cold start to the month with a northerly wind for a while but tending to become drier and milder for the following few weeks.
