A £30,000 car was stolen from a drive Cofton Hackett by thieves who broke into the house to get the keys.

The grey Audi A4 was driven off between 5.30pm and 9.45pm on Sunday, 2 December, from the house in Reservoir Road.

It was broken into via a window and the keys to the vehicle, registration number RE62 MLX, found.

Police are appealing to anyone who has seen either vehicle since they were stolen, knows where they are now, or has seen similar cars offered for sale in suspicious circumstances, to contact them.

West Mercia Police recently launched Citadel, an initiative aimed at reducing the number of burglaries, including car key burglaries, committed in the force area. It has made domestic burglaries and catching offenders a high priority for the force.

Crime prevention advice including ensuring lights come on at dusk, keeping hedges trimmed so homes can be easily seen from the road, and securing side gates to prevent access to the rear of the property, is available on the force website,

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Matt Brittain quoting 598-S-021212.
