Despite a rather damp start, Tardebigge Fair & Show went on to be one of the most successful ever, raising a grand total of £5,210.

The annual event, held on August 5, was declared open by BBC Midlands Today presenter Suzanne Virdee, who spent time chatting to visitors and expressed her fondness for the typically English traditions on display.

Morris men and a brass band provided entertainment, while a host of stalls and games attracted large crowds. Kids enjoyed pony rides and a mini railway.

Meanwhile, St Bartholomew’s Church was full of produce, flowers, cakes and crafts, all vying for top prizes in the Show and later to be sold in the produce auction which rounded off the day.
