Bomber history dispute

Posted on November 18 2008 at 3:28:05

Alvechurch Ex-Services Association is trying to trace the author of a letter calling into question the identity of the Wellington bomber that crashed in Rowney Green in 1943.

A John S Green, of Altrincham, Cheshire, has written to the association after downloading features about the crash from The Village magazine over the internet.

His version contradicts the history gathered over recent years by the association but unfortunately Mr Green didn’t put his full address in his letter to the Ex-Services Hon Sec John Hoccum.

Mr Hoccum said he’d be keen to talk to Mr Green as his story indicated another Wellington may have crashed in the parish.

So, Mr Green, call The Village on 0121 445 6757 and we’ll put you in touch.
