Bromsgrove chef Lorenzo Richards has been shortlisted as one of three finalists for the national Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2013, in the Best Ethnic Cuisine category.

The annual awards, known as the Oscars of the culinary world, acknowledge high standards of excellence with finalists selected by a panel of respected ambassadors from the food industry.

Lorenzo – born to Jamaican parents and brought up in Birmingham – has been bringing an authentic taste of the Caribbean to Bromsgrove since 2007, when he took over the management of The Wildmoor Oak following high profile roles across the West Midlands and London.

His menu features a variety of popular West Indian dishes and the monthly Caribbean Night party is nearly always a sell-out.

Lorenzo, who has already achieved a wide variety of business and culinary accolades, will attend a gala dinner at Grosvenor House in London on June 10, where the winner of the Best Ethnic Cuisine category will be announced.
