Posted on October 10 2012 at 2:14:35

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was sexually assaulted in Cofton Hackett.

It happened at about 2.30pm on Saturday, 6 October, in Kendal End Road.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was sitting in a van when he noticed a burgundy Ford Mondeo estate pull up. A man, thought to be in his late 60s, got out and started talking to him and then sexually assaulted him.

The victim then drove off and parked up in Cofton Church Lane. He noticed the same Mondeo had followed him there and was parked behind his van for about 15 minutes before driving off.

The offender is white with white, balding hair, about 5ft 10ins in height, large build, was clean shaven, walked with a limp and was very well spoken. He mentioned he was local to the area.

He was wearing a green and grey tweed jacket with beige trousers and brown shoes.

Investigating officer PC Andy Wright said: “We are eager to hear from anyone who thinks they saw this man or his car in the area on Saturday.

“As he did say he was local to the area it is possible that someone may recognise him from the description.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact PC Wright on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 75-S-091012, or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
