Cast getting into character

Alvechurch Dramatic Society presents The Mad Hatter and the Lost Happy Endings, by Chris Davies and Paul Chamberlain (with additional material by Jan Brice and Sue Resuggan).

The show takes place on November 29 and 30 (7.30pm), and December 1 (2.30pm and 7.30pm) in Alvechurch Village Hall.

Brought to you by the team that inflicted Sherry Zard and the Sultan’s Curse on the village a couple of years ago, The Mad Hatter and the Lost Happy Endings promises the same mixture of fun, excitement and inspired panto silliness.

When the dastardly Dark Queen gets fed up of being on the losing side all the time, she decides to take matters into her own hands and rid Panto Land of its happy endings, replacing them with decidedly unhappy endings instead.

As pantos up and down the land start going wrong, it’s clear that the White Fairy is going to need some help to put things right.

Can our motley collection of panto characters rescue the Keeper of the Happy Endings and save the day?  Oh, yes they can! Oh, no they can’t!

Expect plenty of silly songs, colourful costumes, groan-worthy gags, and ample audience participation. There may even be a dash of romance! There is certainly a donkey. Plus, singing teabags!

Tickets £6 (£5 conc), available from Alvechurch Post Office, The Joshua Tree, or by calling 0121 447 7071.

As we went to press, there were only tickets left for Thursday night and Saturday matinee.
