Volunteers lanscaping the car park

Volunteers have been helping to landscape the new car park and countryside access point at Tardebigge Community Hall, made possible by community co-operation and officially opened by Julie Kirkbride MP in November.

The area provides dedicated parking for the hall, as well as overflow parking for the adjacent Tardebigge C of E First School – and also enables ramblers and visitors to enjoy the surrounding countryside and views from the hill topped by St Bartholomew’s Church.

The project has been funded by a Biffaward grant, Tutnall & Cobley Parish Council, Breathing Places and a collaboration between the Big Lottery Fund and the BBC, plus several local bodies and a host of fundraising activities run by the hall, school and church.

Designed with the environment in mind, the area features a Grasscrete surface, bat boxes and a wild area providing natural habitats.

The car park and access point will be open to the public from 8am–5.30pm on weekdays in term-time.
