New hall ‘next spring’

Plans for a new village hall in Cofton Hackett are reaching an advanced stage, with the project due to be completed by spring next year.

Members of Cofton Hackett Parish Council met with St Modwen, developer of the former car plant land, and their architects to draw up a specification for the hall, which St Modwen is providing as a condition of the planning approval for the Longbridge development.

The design of the new hall will draw on the results of a questionnaire sent to all Cofton Hackett residents asking for their ideas on the layout and usage of the facility.

St Modwen will be presenting their initial proposals to the parish council in the next few weeks before submitting a planning application to Bromsgrove District Council.

The hall plan has received impetus with the approval of 41 new homes on the former East Works site in Cofton, where the hall will be built.
