Parking fears in school expansion

Posted on November 27 2017 at 2:33:18

Barnt Green parish councillors have discussed submitting an official response to the proposed expansion of St Andrew’s First School.

It was generally felt that the expansion would be good for pupils, but councillors were concerned that it would exacerbate parking problems in the village at school drop-off and pick-up times.

“In an ideal world, we would probably prefer it if a new school was built on another site, but that’s not going to happen with the current financial situation,” said chairman Robert Cholmondeley.

Councillors agreed to suggest that the school looked into operating a bus or a car share scheme.
