Rowney Green raiders steal TV

Posted on October 10 2012 at 2:20:41

Burglars escaped from a house in Rowney Green with a 50-inch television in broad daylight.

They struck between 6.20am and 6pm on Monday (October 8) at the home in Gravel Pit Lane, taking the LCD LG Tv worth £500, a Panasonic Lumix digital camera worth £190 and an Apple MacBook laptop.

PC Mark Lazenby from West Mercia Police said: “Rowney Green is quite a rural area so any suspicious activity such as cars parked in unusual circumstances may stick in someone’s mind.

“If anyone is offered a TV, camera or laptop for sale similar to the ones stolen and is unsure if it has come from a legitimate source we would urge them to call us as soon as possible.”

West Mercia Police launched their new forcewide initiative, Citadel, last month which is aimed at driving down the number of burglaries committed in the force area.

It will involve the deployment of a range of operational tactics to catch burglars and a targeted crime prevention advice campaign.

Residents are reminded to locked their homes at all times, not to leave windows open when they are out or leave keys where they can be easily reached by thieves.

More crime prevention advice can be found on the force website at under the advice centre section.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the burglary should contact PC Lazenby at Bromsgrove Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 541-S-081012, or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
