Two Barnt Green women are saddling up for charity as they undertake a gruelling 400km cycle ride from London to Paris.

Dawn Kordan, who runs Beauticle Natural Nails & Beauty, and her friend Sarah Pearson are taking part in the challenge to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

The pair only started cycling two years ago when they joined the local Chaingang Cycle Group, which caters for all abilities.

The club meets on Wednesdays evenings and all rides finish with a well-deserved tipple at the Squash & Racquets Club in Barnt Green.

Dawn and Sarah both have Justgiving pages: and

“Please consider supporting this wonderful charity – every little helps,” says Dawn, whose kit is being sponsored by Bartley Glass & Windows Ltd, Arrow Installations Ltd, Nero and Shoosmiths Solicitors.

Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is a charity that researches the causes of blood cancers, which are the most common cause of cancer death in the under 35s but can affect anyone at any age. Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer.

The charity’s aim is for 100 per cent of blood cancer patients to go on to live full lives without fear of relapse.
