Season of success for youth squads

Posted on June 30 2019 at 12:59:26

Alvechurch United U7s have just completed their first season in football, winning the Central Warwickshire Autumn and Spring Cups along the way.

The club is delighted that the boys have had a very successful season down to their hard work, willingness to learn and passion for football. The boys played 33 matches, winning 21, scoring 113 goals and keeping seven clean sheets.

Coaches Macky Lawlor and Tim Andrews would like to thank the parents for their support and the boys (Tate, Joshua, Toby, Lennie, Jacob, Sam, Jack and Jenson) for being amazing.

*  Meanwhile, Alvechurch U13s took the bold step of moving into a new league for the first time this season, transferring to the Saturday Ambassador Evesham League.

The team, containing many players from Alvechurch and the surrounding areas, adapted superbly and were crowned Premier Division champions after an undefeated season which saw 68 goals scored and just five conceded. The lads are looking to test themselves further next season by moving to the Junior Premier League.

They play their home matches at Hopwood Community Centre and are sponsored by Newform Windows and Eureka Research.
