Friends of Burcot Grange residential care home enjoyed an afternoon of music, fine food and summer refreshments to help raise funds for the Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Guests and residents ranging in age from two to 102 joined in the fun at Burcot Grange, and local MP Sajid Javid was also in attendance with his family.

Entertainment was provided by award winning jazz trio Fret & Fiddle while tea was served with fresh strawberries and cream and a selection of home baked treats.

“The afternoon was a huge success with families from all the local villages joining our residents to support a very worthy cause,” said care home manager Vicky Hall (pictured above right with Stella Ricketts and Sajid Javid).

“I would like to thank all the people who continue to show us such tremendous support in all our charity work.”

A total of £450 was raised for the Hospice, which offers care and support for life-limited and life-threatened children and young people.
