Jack in training

A Bromsgrove man is taking on his first triathlon to raise money for a children’s home in Kenya.

Jack Webster will compete in the Droitwich Sprint Triathlon in support of Our Home Nakuru, which was set up by his good friend and former Oakalls resident Billy Jones.

The event consists of a 400m swim, 20km cycle route and a 5k run.

“My level of fitness is disgusting, so I’ve been training really hard,” admits Jack. “I’ve targeted £1,000, which I think is definitely achievable, so please dig deep and donate!”

OHN’s mission is to provide a safe, secure homestead for Nakuru’s street children and orphans which also reaches out to address the medical, educational and political needs of the local community.

The children at the home will be cheering Jack on, and Billy has sent this message: “On behalf of all the family at Our Home Nakuru, I would like to say a huuuuge thank you to Jack for his time, energy and dedication.

“OHN would be nothing if it wasn’t for the people who keep us afloat with their incredible fundraising efforts. All the money raised by Jack will go to supporting the children in our homestead – housing, feeding and educating them.

“Thanks to people like Jack, our kids are able to lead the lives they deserve. We are so grateful to have him on board and I, personally, am honoured to have him as a friend.”
