Tribute to chairman

Posted on June 30 2019 at 1:49:26

New Alvechurch parish chairman Marc Worrall paid tribute to his predecessor as he took charge.

“The parish owes Andy Humphries a huge debt of gratitude for his work over the years,” Coun Worrall told fellow councillors.

“But I have one complaint about Andy,” he joked, “he built a pedestal so high that anyone following in his wake has got a tall order ahead.”

Coun Worrall also thanked retiring councillors Adrian Smith, Martin Ball and Rick Chima.

Meanwhile, the council co-opted Sam Lewis, one of the “Hopwood mums” who have successfully campaigned for play equipment in the hamlet, as a parish councillor – leaving two vacancies.
